1997 honda accord oil light
Honda accord,1997 1 owner and well taken care of.
130,000 miles car is a limited edition, small 4 CYL. AUTO. Oil light never comes on when I turn the key but not start it. Do I have to remove the instrument cluster to change the bulb?. I havent checkd a thing yet but was told to just replace the sending unit. I'm not crazy about lights and I also want to install a oil pressure gauage. Information is much appreciated BOB |

Re: 1997 honda accord oil light
if you locate the oil pressure sending unit you can unhook the wire going to it and ground it to see if light comes on with the key on, if it does your sending unit is bad, if it doesn't its the bulb or wiring

I looked at many U tubes and they show 4 screws to remove then the front part comes off. My car has no screws and it looks like the black plastic on the entire front has to be removed. The sending unit is in the center and the car has to be jacked up and to make it an easy job,the tire should be removed. Another reason I want to put in the oil gauge. I have the guage here and it also has a light in it http://www.usaspecialty.co.nz/images...WP-warning.jpg Tanks for responding BOB |
