Air Intake Good or Bad?

Hey guys just real quick I read the thread on mods for the SL and I decided I might as well go ahead and get SOMETHING modded on my car. This will be the first mod, and I was just wondering if this is a good one. The post said to get it from ebay, and there weren't any sellers, but this one was on the Ebay store. Anyone know if it;s any good or not?

Be honest, I see nothing wrong with it.

Re: Air Intake Good or Bad?

What can I expect in the way of HP gains, tho? The thread on mods said it might add 1 HP and that it would help with other mods, but the Advertisement says I can expect anywhere from 5-12 (results may vary)

Re: Air Intake Good or Bad?

that intake looks fine, they say 5-12 because they just wanna sell the intakes and want as many sales as possible, but realistically you will only get about 1, and the sound of course which sounds nice....but with future mods the intake will help out more, this is one of the most basic and inexpensive mods, buy it! (try to find it cheaper if u can)

Re: Air Intake Good or Bad?

How much should I pay for an intake system? I mean 40 bucks sounded pretty cheap to me, but whatever the cheaper the better. What kind of sound difference can I expect? will it be a big "WHOA" difference, or just a kind of "Oh, it does change the sound" kind of difference?

Re: Air Intake Good or Bad?

As far as performance you won't be able to tell a difference. Intakes do very little for our cars. But they are a nice place to start modding, and they will give the intake a thoatier sound as well. You don't have to spend a bunch on an intake. K&N's tend to be more spendy compared to a lot of the other off brands but it is your choice. Just don't get a like a foam filter. I think my K&N filter cost about $90 give or take.
