Advice

Hello,

I'm a first time buyer and a student. My plan is to spend under $3500 for a car. I am basically looking for something that will be fairly reliable. I am trying to sort through a couple of things....

1) Should I spend less than $1000 and just get something basic that'll hopefully last for a year or so, OR should I spend more in the $2500 range and hopefully have something that will last.

2) Three cars I'm looking at right now and just some advice - 95 Protege; 90,000 miles; $2500 - 92 Plymouth Sundance; 105,000 miles; $900 - 95 Saturn (don't know model) 70,000 miles; $2800

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

-Geoff

Re: Advice

id spend the extra now. you never know whats going to happen in a few months so spending more to get a better car is worth it.

i would however stick away from the plymouth, the saturn will last a while, and the protege the same. right now id say the aturn, just because of the miles on it.

Re: Advice

that saturn should last, thats really low mileage for a 10 year old car.
