mod my shiatt
i have a jdm D15b in my car now. Should i save up for a b16a and swap that in or should a mod my current engine? if so, would the intake manifold and headers and stuff for the regular del sol 1.5l fit onto my shit? im kinda broke so im leaning towards modding the d15b but give me sum feedback

Re: mod my shiatt
I honestly don't know but wouldn't it be cheaper to sell your car and buy a vtec ( b16a2) del sol? Right now you would have to buy the engine, trans and all other parts and then if you don't have the equipment/know how the installation fee. I

Re: mod my shiatt
I'd say save up for a turbo for your current engine or for a b16a. You'll be a lot happier with the hp increase than you will with just adding basic bolt-ons to the current motor. Check this link out for cheap turbo: http://www.civicland.com/diy/general...et_turbo.shtml

Re: mod my shiatt
reading shit like that makes it seem sooo fricken easy, cheap, and quick to do. depending on the state of your d15, you'll be able to boost but theres no telling how much it will handle. d15's have very thin rods and often break under boost. if you plan to go FI, maybe look into some better internals or a swap

Re: mod my shiatt
He said the motor only has 40k on it (though there's no way for him to know exactly) but still it seems like that'd be ok for boost. If you look on turbod16.com there are people boosting 10psi for daily drivers.

Re: mod my shiatt
true true, but it also is the jdm vtec version d15b so I'm assuming that the internals are stronger than the other d15's but who knows. I've never known anyone who knows a lot about that motor, damn japanese and their secrets .
