Re: 1/24 Peugeot S2000 / Fiesta S2000 - Belkits

Thanks for your words, Petteri.
Unfortunately being eyes well opened rally modelers isn't often awarded by brands, fortunately some new ones can increase the market level.

Perhaps Ford zeal is also a way to justify the big money they're asking to give use licence for their cars...
But once more, I highly prefer that (even if not confortable and kind for brands efforts especially Belkit ones) to accuracy laxism of some other brands...

The only final important thing is that the model would be as perfect as possible to get the maximum success to modelers.

Re: 1/24 Peugeot S2000 / Fiesta S2000 - Belkits

a little update from the source (i work for Domino/Belkits and occupied with progress of Fiesta's)

the factory that develops the kits for us have underestimated the time needed to make both kits in 1 time.
For a rallyfan, he clearly sees the difference between a S2000 and a WRC. But for the engineers in china, it are 2 same cars. so every detail had to be explained.

Also Ford/M-sport needs to see every step in the progress, and approve before we can continue.
A couple of months ago, when we received first test shot in plastic, there were some errors that absolutely needed to be changed (for example brake discs in wrong direction).
About 20 days ago, we sent pictures of decorated body for approval but for each car, there were minor issues.
For WRC, the Ford color on the roof was too light, not our fault, we received an official pdf file with the correct color codes, but the code for this part was fault.
for S2000, the "snow tyre" logo from monte carlo had a color issue (must bee dark blue instead of black)
These changes are made now and a new decal sheet must be sent for approval.
When this is done, they need to receive a full kit for approval.
only when this is approved 100% , we can start producing.

We really hoped to release the kits very soon, but all these steps take a lot of time unfortunately.

But after building the new test shots, i can tell you, IT WILL BE WORTH WAITING.

i really hope everybody understands the delay, but we don't want to take the risk releasing something without being 100% sure it is approved.
This is a huge investment, so better to not take risks.

Re: 1/24 Peugeot S2000 / Fiesta S2000 - Belkits

lol, it reminds to me my first job at Esci when we had to explain every single detail to the moulding developers in china. Wonder why sometimes we get masterpieces as the Lancia beta, or too ugly box as the porsche rsr.The price was exactly the same.

was also the same time when a decal sheet done by cartograf was mentioned as the worst aprt of all our models.

solidarietā..

Waiting isn't a problem, we know it will be a great release.

Do you still plan to release the France rallye black version ?
this one may become hard to get validate as the black isn't homogen, there are mat parts, sticker parts, paint parts on the real car...

Also do you already know about any S2000 aftemarket decals sets ?
Solberg or Block's versions would be killing !!

Does that mean it's "official"? If so, yay!

Yes, that sound is my hands rubbing together in anticipation, Lesley (eycles)!

Re: 1/24 Peugeot S2000 / Fiesta S2000 - Belkits

From Facebook:

If anyone should wonder, a miracle has happened

Production of the Fiestas started, so we hope to ship them in 2 ā 3 weeks.
Only thing to do now is check the schedule for the boat...

My work on the Fiestas is done,
...
and I'm already drawing the box-art for the 4th Belkits.

Cheers
