Scale Tire Mold Lines
What do you guys do to get rid of the mold lines on the tires? My method is imperfect, to say the least. I steal my wife's toenail clippers, which have a curved cutting surface that comes close to the curvature of the tire and I can snip most of it off that way. Does sanding work on rubber? What else can you do?

thats exactally what I use.. a fingernail clipper.. I also find other small sharp cutting tools with a small/fine tip and blade will do wonders as well.
once you have the tires mounted on the rim, try some clear coat brushed on the tire to get that new tire(after car wash) shine

I sand with 200 grade, then 800 grade, the whole time the tire is submerged in water! I think Warren then adds a coat of wax!

I do just as Dan said...it takes a weeee while but its the only way to get rid of the lines.
The tamiya kits are good as you can sand then wax them and they look great. The Revell ones like i do on the funny cars and dragster need to be painted with tyre paint as they go white-ish with sanding.

Well, I mostly prefer road cars, so I don't have to worry about slicks that much...
