Testor's new Base/Clear--drying time?
So I decided to give their new Base/Clear system a shot, I have Nassau Blue Metallic for my Firebird. I intend to prime with grey primer, then shoot a few mist coats, then one good coat the blue. Now how long should I wait between the blue and the clearcoat?

Re: Testor's new Base/Clear--drying time?
I usually wait about 5-6 days with about 5 color coats. No problems so far.
Supposedly, you can clear within 2 hours of spraying the color. However, I tried this once, and since clear acts like thinner, the sharp edges came through the color coats so that I could see the plastic underneath. In other words, the clear effectively re-flowed the color. > |
