1999 Ford Contour Weird Blower Motor Issue
I have a 1999 Ford Contour SE, I first had an issue last summer with the wiring to the fan switch melting so the blower motor would only come on on certain speeds, or not at all, so I went to a junkyard and I got an unmelted wiring harness and spliced it in after cutting out the melted wiring, this lasted half way through summer then driving down the highway with the A/C on we smelt burning electronics and since then there is no air coming from the vents on any setting, I have taken the switchs back out and nothing is melted, and everything that was spliced is still intact, I tried replacing the fan speed switch itself with no luck, I read about the blower motor resistor, but have not been able to find a website that shows how to remove the blower motor to get to the resistor, or if this is even the issue or if it could be something else because of the smell etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It should look like this. If I remember right it just snaps into place.
