Programming for a 2003 rendezvous keyless remote. Is it the same as it is for a 2002 rendezvous ???

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
I have a set of programming instructions that states that they work for 2002 -2007 Rendezvous. Note that all remotes have to be reprogrammed when a new one is added.

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
Not needed:
There's a manual method of programming keyless entry transmitters also. Make sure that you have all the transmitters you want to be able to use handy because the system will have to "learn" each one, even if they already worked before. If you have the memory seat/radio/mirror option you'll need to program the remote for 'driver 1' first, then 'driver 2', then up to 2 others. Here's how to do it: 1. Close the vehicle doors. 2. Turn OFF the ignition. 3. Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder. 4. Press and hold the driver side door lock switch to the unlock position. 5. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) 6. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) 7. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) Leave the ignition key in the ignition lock cylinder. 8. Release the door lock switch. The body control module (BCM) will sound three beeps in order to verify the Program Mode has been activated. 9. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the keyless entry transmitter simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds . The BCM will sound two beeps in order to verify that the transmitter has been successfully programmed. 10. Perform the previous step to program up to four transmitters. 11. Remove the ignition key in order to exit the Program Mode. 12. Verify the proper operation of each transmitter. Just did this on my 07. What I found was good for 2002-07 |

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
I guys,
I tried this and some other type of programming suggestions. Nothing has worked. I got to the part where the car beeped thrice, yet somehow itwouldn't accept the remotes. Mine is a Compustar remote with the car starter option- I don't know if it would make a difference. Just got this vehicle and the owner said it just stopped working recently. Honestly, if it wasn't for the trunk needing it to open it, i wouldn't bother with it. Is there a fuse, solenoid, connection etc. I can check on before going to the dealer?? Would appreciate your opinion. |

I suspect since you have an aftermarket remote the programming may be different. You might try Comustar tech support. They do have user manuals on their website. You'll need to know what you have.

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
Aleekat, I stand corrected...this is one of the few vehicles after 2000 that can still be programmed manually.....
And I agree with you....your procedure will work for a GM vehicle with GM parts....aftermarket, I doubt it.... |

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
Thank you for the response back guys.
Contacted Compustar and ofcourse I was suggested to go and see one of their dealers. Well, I made an appointment with a nearby SunN Sound. Let's see what they'll tell me besides I'll need a new system :-) However, I did wonder if there is a fuse I could check just to make sure whether or not the system itself is actually working ?? |

Re: 2003 Buick Rendezvous Keyless remote program
Not knowing the system or having a schematic, it would be hard to know....however, you did get the system to beep, so I don't think it is a fuse.....Sun & Sound may know of a different procedure for resetting the system, either manually or they may have a scan tool that communicates with the system....
