PCV plastic tube for 92 escort lx wagon 1.9L

Was servicing my vehicle today and this tube snapped in half. Called ford, dont have it since its an 'obsolete' legacy part.

Tried 1aauto, rock auto, both dont have it.

Am I out of luck? is there an alternative? can I just use a rubber hose instead to connect the pcv valve to the other end part?

If you are talking about the plastic tube that connects the PCV valve on the front corner of the engine, with the fittings on the intake manifold - any way you can repair it would be fine. Most of the time it handles vapors at very little pressure. A rubber fuel line slid over it would work.
The usual failure point is at the rubber elbow where the end of the plastic tube connects onto the intake manifold. Ford didnt sell that by itself either - but years ago they would sell you the entire plastic tube and the rubber elbow as an assembly - for $23. The parts guys did this with a straight face too.
Anyway, when that rubber elbow gets dried out and sucked in, it will amount to a big leak to the intake, and cause stumbling and stalling. I have seen guys use a rubber tube (3/*" diameter I think) to replace it. I found some brass 90 elbows with barbs for 3/8" hose, and installed one of those, with 3/8" fuel line to mate it to the tube on the intake manifold and the plastic tube from the Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve.

if your Escort one of those which does not have an EGR valve? It mounts to the back side of the intake manifold just next to the throttle valve, and has a steel tube running down to bung into the exhaust pipe. The 92 and 93 Escorts didnt have EGR systems for the Federal versions, though they did have EGR systems in California. Its strange that the 91LX Escorts did have EGR systems, as did the 94LX and later ones - but the 92 and 93 got away without them.
I own 4 2nd gen Escorts, and have 3 others in my family. They four I have are all daily drivers for the wife and I; two of them at each of the two places we live in seasonally.
