tamiya golf v5

Is the tamiya golf v5 rare? i got one today for cheap and i was wondering if it is worth any money? Like would it be worth not building it?

The way I look at these things is similar to some advise I was given about record collecting.
"Buy it if you like it, don't buy it as an investment, most things are just too massed produced today to ever be really rare"

If you like the car build it I say.

I would love to get hold of a ESCI MK2 Escort kit for less than £40 or Sierra Cosworth for less than £30 and if I did get one cheap, I would not hesitate building it as I love these cars.

Well hmmmmm..... I would say it is but it isnt in a way. When i go to my LHS they cant get it and on EBAY sometime in a rare moment people put it up. So in my point of view yes it is but its not worth that much $25 tops

Nah, it's not rare. Harder to get hold of, yes.

I say build it. I managed to get my hands on a couple since Tamiya discontinued them and have seen a few more (mainly on ebay). The kits classed as rare are those limited edition runs, e.g.

Mclaren MP4/13 Japanese version.
Mercedes CLK GTR - clear version.
Porsche 911 GT1 - clear version, etc.

And even those are still fairly available.
