Putting a vr4 engine in an sl

I think this would be easier than just bolting turbos and the other junk on to it. What else do I have to change out like drivetrain or something. And please don't say get a vr4 I can't still have to pay of this car but have enough saved up to get a great used one.

If your car is an auto then you will need to get a shift kit for sure. If it is a 5 speed you will need to buy a LSD for your car. On top of that, you will need (not complete neccessary but HIGHLY recommended) a TT ECU, a boost gauge, TT cooling system, a EBC or MBC, and a some other odds and ends that I cannot think of off the top of my head.

A LSD is a limited slip differential. Trust me, you will need it.

Other than that, you can run a TT setup on a n/a 5 speed. Be warned it is not as strong as the TT transmission but at the same time you will also have pletny of wheel spin with FWD to release some of the strain on it...but even still, they aren't terribley hard to break under that kind of power.

My Bad I thought you were saying to put twin turbos on a NA motor, If you put a TT motor in an SL I would get a transmission out of a VR-4 and put in one of the conversion plugs from 3sx http://www.3sx.com/store/comersus_vi...dProduct=28035

Actually a lot of people still turbo the SL (6G72 n/a) motor and just run less boost due to the higher compression.

correctly tuned a TT 10:1 motor can make some impressive numbers...but like someone said above you'll run into problems trying to put it to the ground.
