What makes the turn signal sound?

I always thought there was no turn signal relay in the SV6, just something that makes the "clacking" sound. Now I know for sure. A few days ago it was "clacking" for a turn, then it suddenly became and odd tinny sounding. Then it stopped entirely. The turn signals still work fine but it's silent. So, what is this sound making device called, and where is it located? I just hope it's not totally buried under the Instrument Panel.

Re: What makes the turn signal sound?

I haven't fixed this on my Montana. My Impala, my blinkers quit so when I just put the blinker on, it just stayed on solid and no clicking. Searching forums, I had to order a new button/light for the dash. I found out that's where the clicking came from. Replacing that fixed my blinkers. I wonder if that's your problem. The button (much smaller), is in the dash. Maybe that just needs to be replaced. I just bought a cheap knock off off of ebay.
