Clicking Noise in Motor - Please help!
Recently ran my truck MUCH too low on oil. It was not giving me warnings except every once in a while I would get a check oil level (like an idiot I didnt heed this warning)
I started to hear a clicking noise of what I assume is a lifter. I was only running 2 quarts of 6 capacity. I quickly added 4 quarts, drove it easy and had the oil changed after about a 15 mi drive back home. After this, I still hear the clicking noise. I thought maybe it would go away after it got pressure to fill the lifters back up, but so far no luck. Did I do irrepairable damage possibly? What can be done at this point? What should I check and can anyone give me possible remedies or things to try. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

when the oil gets dark replace quickly, as carbon will greatly wear out your engine... If the problem does not go away , then you most likely damaged the camshaft lobes or spun a crank bearing ... since you have a oil consumption problem always carry a galllon container of oil with you.... |
