Re: Dino 206 sp

Nice... Your are another happy modeller, I supose...
Which 206sp kit is this? Where you buyit ? Cost?
Very clean resin. Did you open the vertical holes in the rear, or its already open. If yes, how.
Another parts photo are very welcome.
Thanks...

Re: Dino 206 sp

Little update on my Dino 206s project.
Abandoned the idea to buy the Ebay modeller's copy, I started to make my own.
The carrera slot basis I have is quite good, and using some factory draw I am staring to convert the body.
The positive thing here is the thickness of this old plastic is perfect to plan for a fully open engined model...we will see, for now there is a just too much work to do.
The windshield horizontal arch will be the next step. I am waiting my dino competizione as donor kit. I will take the rims and maybe the windshield.

Re: Dino 206 sp

Great work...
Which model you plan to use for the base? A 330p4?
If you make some copies, count me for one...
Good luck until the end and let me know if you plan to duplicate this...

Re: Dino 206 sp

Thank u my Friend.
no way to use a p4. its too big and too different. Maybe just some parts, but is a really nice kit and I dont like to scrap it for so few.
I Think will use the Dino competizione, and (probably) a dino 246 gts donor from fujimi. The engine should be similar as from EM model.Saved some of theme for this porpouse.

Still dunno if I will cast it.The plastic is very very thin, even more now after my rework.

Re: Dino 206 sp

Little update.
I've retaken the wheel arch size using milliput and checking very carefully the correct shape on the drawings I have. The front side was rebuild 4 times. Now finally it looks as I want.
I recognize now, the body mould I had was probably from a ferrari dino166s.
The 206sp has a different wider body over all the 4 wheels, and the windshield section and roof is totally different.

Milliput is very good for such works,I am also preparing a dime for the trasparents.
The wheels will be done in resin.I will use the airfix rim and convert the fujimi P4 tyres on steel campagnolo rims.

Re: Dino 206 sp

Great Idea !. A little brick of gypsum can be real good for this porpouse. Have to try it soon.

the material looks great and the result u get looks also very good (great over the old 1/18 burago. It changes a LOT from its standard windshield).
