Unchanged F1's ?

I wonder how many F1's are out there which are still the way they left the factory...
I'm just asking, because I recognized that there are quite some cars with a new paintjob, interior or a total refit.

To me, the car supposed to be #029 looks pretty much original.

Re: Unchanged F1's ?

I would agree with that assessment. Of the cars we are familiar with here's my take:

Chassis #003 has an original exterior, but the interior was refitted at least once.

Mr Selldorff's #007 seems original.

Chassis #013 was still original last time it was seen, except for missing red stripes.

I believe that Leno's #015 is mostly original - except the wiper blade of course.

Chassis #016 also seems to be original with its Aubergine paint and tan interior.

I would imagine that George Harrison's chassis #025 is still original wherever it may be hiding.

Chassis #028 is still original - barring that one period of its life with the giant wing.

Chassis #031 has some stickers and new antenna, but seems original.

I think it is safe to say that #036 is probably original as well and quite a gem.

We haven't seen #037 in a while, but my guess is that it makes the list too.

Mr Chamber's chassis #044 is another one to add.

I think #045 also makes the list even though it has been through a few different owners.

BMW's #047 is likely original.

If #048 was the blue car seen in Monaco I'd say it is too so long as no one has gotten to it.

Not sure where #051 is at the moment, but the last shots of it in Japan show it to be unchanged as far as I can tell.

#053 was likely the one on that plane headed to the Middle East recently. The text along with the photos said it had received a refit, but I could see nothing different about it.

Chasssis #055 is a likely candidate, except for the doors which may not have been original depending on the version of the story you hear.

If #060 is still sitting in that warehouse in Japan covered in bubble wrap, I'd bet it's about as original as they get.

Atkinson's #061 looks original, but we know that 'story'.

#062 was formerly Larry Ellison's - not sure where it is today, but likely unchanged.

#063 is another one that is probably still unmolested though it has been bouncing around lately. Hopefully the red floormats are gone for good.

#064 is also MIA as of late, but probably original.

#065 is not only original, it's been aged like a fine wine.

#067 reportedly has a new owner and while the previous one had a big shunt at one point, I'd guess that fitment is original there too.

#068 is unchanged from original fitment based on what I know of it.

#071 is probably the wildest original F1 there ever was and it even has its original owner too - bonus points there.

I can't recall if we decided that #072 was built with the HDF Kit, but if so it may be elligible. Hasn't been seen in a while though.

#074 has the same story with the doors as #055. Anyone have Ralph's number so we can ask?

#075 should be one F1 that is always kept in its original state. I think someone would be foolish to refit that one.

That's it for road cars from my perspective. Some of the cars that are not listed, we simply know nothing about. Others were most certainly refitted at some point. In fact, it would have almost been easier to list those I think.

Re: Unchanged F1's ?

Thanks for listing up all those cars!

I think we can add the Ueno-Clinic styled F1 from Japan to it (#043?).
It looks as though the car hasn't been touched seriously ever since it left the factory...

I also asume that the Brunei bunch is still as delivered.

Re: Unchanged F1's ?

Very good points - not sure how I forgot about that Ueno car. Wish we could see more of it sometime too.

If that brown one that was spotted in Mexico is really #039 it may be original too, though I would hope McLaren had nothing to do with the wheels.

Hopefully the Brunei collection is still original - I do of course wonder what sort of condition that might actually be in those cases.

Re: Unchanged F1's ?

If it is #039, then that is how it was delivered, with those god-awful wheels

PS dont forget those LM's being original, as well as the black one Archangel found the picture of

This picture shows #016 like she came to her first owner in Germany:

It seems like everything is still the same today...

I think it was delivered without them.

According to the TMS guys, the LMs come with both sets of windows and can be swapped as desired.

Correction on one item:

Looking back from an old set of factory photos, it appears that these images below show chassis #072 in build in 1998 with a normal nose and tail. That would mean that it was not originally built with the HDF Kit.

In fact now that I have ruled that one out again I will just repeat that not a single F1 road car that I am aware of was originally fitted with the HDF kit, so any you see would almost certainly have to be a refit. Maybe I will even remember this for next time.

Here's a link to the complete set of those factory photos for anyone who may have missed it the first time around:

Roger - excellent additions with your original images of #016.

WOW

Big thanks Roger - hab vielen Dank!!!
The colour is just great.

Well my personal favorite standard F1 is the car supposed to be #029!
Though I'm pretty sure it is #029 judging the given facts/infos/details...
3rd place goes to #036.
