Oil for da engine.

What oils and weights are you guys and girls using in your civics, right now I just have no name 5w-30 in, but it keeps burning up Im gonna go a little thicker next time around. But how thick etc etc etc. Just trying to stir up conversation.

Mobil 1 5-50 Synthetic in the SiR.

212,000kms and it's still not using oil or blowing smoke and the B16A is thrashed a lot and driven long distances.

I use full synth. 0W30 for my B16A. No leaks and it hardly burns any oil.
I thought it was a bit thin but my dealer (which maintaince quite a lot SiR's) said they always use 0W30 for B16's.
I dunno, but it's running great.

Thumbs up

I have used Mobil1 synthetic 5w-30 in my car. I recently switched to 10w-30 since I am starting to burn a little oil. I change every 5000 miles, and currently have 194,500 on my 1.5L . It only needs to hold together a few more weeks, then I HOPE the rebuilt ZC will be in it.

For that I plan to use regular Mobil 5w-30 for break in period, changing every 250 miles or so 'til 1000, then I'll start back with Mobil1 synthetic 5w-30.

Could someone please explain this 0w-30 Mobil? I have seen it on the shelf but I don't understand. It sounds like from bracer's msg that it is a little thinner than 5w-30 but not too thin.

DOHC ZC, I,H,E, urethane bushings and mount inserts, rock chipped hood, some rust, stock steelies, nice comfy Integra seats, and the A/C works! What else could you want from an 18 year old car with 241,000 miles? Working on getting the Si tranny in now
