Question Engine Oil Weight for the summer?

What weight oil do you use for your engine during the summer? Im think about going with 5W30 all year round, what do you think or stay with 10W40?

I use 5W30 year round. This is why I decided to use this grade: (Applies to ALL SR20 powered vehicles not just SE-R/NX2000)

I will not use any other grade in my SR20.

I had 123,000 on my '91 NX2000 when I sold it and the new owner has prob' close to 140,000 or more now.

I have 50K on my G20 and the prior owner always had it serviced at the dealer. The dealer also showed to be using 5W30 on all the service record.

Thanx alot thats why I was asking cause something seemed very weird when it came time to start the car early in the morning on cold days with my remote start. It had to retry twice when cold like as though the oil was too thick. Thanx again, u guy are the best!

10W30 has a thicker viscosity than 5W30.

Takes longer for it to warm up during the colder seasons and lubricate the internals. 5W30 is thinner and therefore is able to coat the internals quicker when it is colder out.

Many owners use 10W30, but I will stick with 5W30 for what it's worth and because of the TSB I posted above from Nissan.
