HOw to adjust what your car idles at?
I have a 94 Accord Ex and have the I/H/E setup, and my car seems to be idling really rough because the rpms go down so low. Where can I adjust what rpm my car idles at?

1. Either unplug the ECU or the fuse for the ECU for five minutes, then replace it and crank the engine without hitting the gas pedal, keep it running for at least 5-7min, then turn it back off. this should reset your onboard computer so the i/h/e setup doesnt affect the rpm your car is running at, and everything should return to normal.

yes its the cable on the throttle body. you can either tighten the bolt on it or loosen it to adjust the idle.

there is normally a screw to adjust it in your throttle body. If you have a haynes manual it will tell you how to do it. its not hard, i had to do it on mine after i got a new cam. it took me less than 5 minutes.

I believe the idle screw should be on the throttle body. I just lowered mine by screwing it clockwise.

the right way is to start the vehicle and raise the rpm to about 1,000 rpm, disconnect the IAC valve and lower the throttle to the vehicle idles on it's own and adjust the screw...should be around 450-500rpm. I think then reconnect your IAC valve the rpm will stabilized to about 650-700.. The manual has easy and simple details. I would also check your ignition timing
