The Curious Kid and His Transmission.
So I have a Nissan Maxima 2006 SE (automatic) and it constantly jerks when shifting gears and when going from drive to reverse and vice versa. I don't really know much about cars but i know that is bad. and I know it can be expensive. I've been watching youtube videos on people who love cars and mod theirs and other stuff to them. I want to be proud of my car and work on it and make it my own.
My questions to y'all is: Is it possible for the average joe to repair or replace large parts like the transmission? What kind of tools are recommended? Is it hard? Please leave any and all tips! |

Re: The Curious Kid and His Transmission.
It may not be transmission related at all. Could be engine mounts among another 100 things.
These CVT transmissions require specialized tools and equipment to work on, and are typically just swapped out as a unit instead of being opened up and repaired. It is possible for the average person to change the CVT fluid on them. Main thing is to use the proper CVT fluid.
