I need help setting timing points

I had replaced the gaskets in my 98 MPV and had removed the distibutor and need help setting my timing back.

I know this is old but i dont see any answer so imma answer it.

1) set piston 1 to tdc... U can take out sprk plug on cyl 1 and put in a long screw driver, move the crank until the screw driver at its highest point. Thats tdc.
2) point dist rotor to #1 marked on dist cap (the carbon side)
3) adjust timing degree according to the info under the hood. If u have obd2 scanner, u can read the timing degree in there without using timing light.
