My 2001 LS430 has a serious problem that Lexus Canada cannot resolve after 10 days in the shop. I was driving in a rainy day when the gas gauge display suddenly went dead, hi/lo beam control was out (only lo beam worked), sound control was off, instrument panel light control was off (highest intensity only), memory seats were off, trunk controls (remote and manual) were off, some speakers were off.
The problems were cleared when the engine was re-started. It appeared again 3 days after.
The problems make driving in a rainy night rather dangerous. Lexus cannot guarantee that ABS, traction controls, airbags or any other safety related devices are working or not under this condition. The problems were duplicated once three days after the first episode. The dealer got the car when the problems were present but could not identify the cause. Lexus decided to replace the battery after 10 days, but could not explain why. COULD THIS BE A COMMON HIDDEN PROBLEM for ALL LS430?
The car was not driven in the winter but warmed up every week or two for 5 to 10 minutes. It was drained once when I left it for just over 10 days in garage without warming up. It was recharged and no problem driving it for months. Now Lexus Canada is trying to deny this problem has ever happened. I am very concerned that another rainy day may cause the problems again and no ABS and safety equipment are working.
Need suggestions from anyone.
