Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

Hi all

My friendly postie dropped off my latest HLJ parcel which had a set of ST27's new decals for Rossi's 2014 Monza Rally Fiesta. Major problem! I have pretty much every set of decals that have been released for Vale's rally cars, especially Monza Rally Show, & all of his black Fiesta's have had fluoro green/yellow markings. This set is lemon yellow.

Did ST27 get it right or is this a major blunder which will require a lot of template making using the decals to make masks & spraying the fluoro myself?

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

My opinion is it's a major blunder (not the first time ST27 have achieved this), the car definitely looked dayglo yellow to me.

Thanks freakray, I thought as much. The pic you posted is the 2013 car which I've since discovered has been done by Colorado & their set looks like it might be lemon yellow too, rather than the fluoro

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

I am also interested in Rossi's cars.
And the real Fiesta 2014 Monza Rally Show is black and fluorescent yellow, with no doubt.
I didn't saw the decal from S27, so I can't speak about them.
But I think It's sad to do a 24014 livery for a 2011 car (The front bumper is different on the 2014 car).

Well, I'm impatient to see the 2015 livery !

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

Thanks Bob. That's handy to know about the front bumper. I'll have to take a closer look at some photos whilst I've got a Belkits car in front of me.
Pity you didn't do his 13 or 14 cars - I've got 1 of each of the sets you've already done & they are superb. Any thoughts about doing a set for thus year's car?

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

Applied over black, it's likely that the decals won't look lemon yellow. Whether they will accurately look like florescent yellow is hard to say- but they will look different on the model then they do on the sheet.

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

Hi,

I just finished the 2013 Valentino Fiesta WRC.

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1143611

The yellow of the 2013 livery is fluorecent yellow.
I used the Colorado decals (sponsors/supplier logos) and airbrushed the base colors. I did it this way:

For the 2014 version you can use this set. Is a transkit from MF Zone.

It's a very impressive way to achieve the effect. i think the trickiest part of his car is that the body is flat black, but the liveries are actually glossy. it's really hard to get the exact effect of the real car.

Re: Q? re: new Rossi Monza Rally decals

@Rally24 : Thanks a lot for pictures and congratulations for your paint job.
I'm sure the final result will be amazing !

@Seamus McRae : Like it was very rightly said by Reji (Thanks for details), the car is really different.
So, I don't want to do 2015 decals for a 2011 car.
This is not my way of doing the job.

But be sure that this livery will be released soon, with Colorado and Studio27 now interested by the subject !
And to be honest, even if I would be interested, I can't work as fast as them.

At least your set would be accurate though Bob (whilst not necessarily the correct car details, certainly the actual decals themselves)
