Can someone please distinguish the differences between the cars?..The only info I have on them is Ive seen many saleen stangs'..I heard theirs a place their shipped to to turn them into a saleen,shelby all I know is carol shelby and rousch?..Does jack rousch have something to do with them?..Confusion...

jack roush is the frontman for roush, they do the same as saleen...buy mustangs from ford and add body kits, suspension, exhaust, wheels, superchargers, etc different packages for different price levels. roush also builds f150s, focuses, and some other models i believe

the shelby as in the new shelby cobra is actually built by svt, in michigan. its very different they are more involved with building their own engines, independent rear suspension, 6spd trannies, etc. svt also builds contours, focuses, and f150s (lightning)

saleen is in irvine, ca. steve saleen is the originator. they buy mustangs from ford as well and build their own cars same as roush. they also have one model the s281 extreme which features a motor built buy saleen for higher hp levels. saleen also builds a supercar they call the s7, it is a rear engine 800 some hp twin turbo motor, the car is built from space age materials like beryllium and lots of carbon fiber. saleen has also built explorers, contours, thunderbirds, focus', and now f150s.

Saleen and roush start out with a Ford Mustang GT and then are moded out from there. They come with a SOHC. The SVT uses a DOHC to start with producing a lot more power. Just a little food for thought.

roush also makes a stage 1 that uses a 6cyl platform and saleen used to build a s351 which was a 6cyl which was later removed for the 351w

Shelby does build his own Riced out version of a V6 Mustang as well as a GT Mustang. He has verry little to do with SVT other than whoring out his name. SVT is not currently doing anything related to an IRS. Also SVT for the most part is nothing more than a badge now. FRPP is doing more than what SVT is at the moment.

The biggest difference is that Saleen is considered a manufacture and has his own VIN not a Ford VIN. No Ford emblems on his Mustang. All others are Tuner Mustangs which they just add parts to make it into a special car. The nice thing about Tuner cars are they are insured as a GT but to get enough coverage you need to insure by value because you pay more than they are worth. On average about 35% loss taking it off the lot because insurance companies only see the Saleen Mustang as a special finance model.
