head swap for lt1?
i have lt1 and deciding on build before putting it in my camaro. i was wondering if lt1 heads off a corvette would provide any better performance. cash is definitely an issue cuz i am turning 97 rs into z28

Do you mean changing from iron to aluminum? Or do you already have aluminum? The factory aluminum heads are marginally better for performance over the iron. The iron heads tend to make a little more usable torque, but less high-end power.
If you're going to buy heads, don't waste money on factory stuff. Aftermarket heads can make a TON more power. Dart is the brand of choice, a long as you plan to have the ports at least cleaned up. Edelbrocks are quite good "out of the box". Many of the import heads can be made to perform VERY well, as long as a good porter gets them first. FWIW Jim |
