craptastic mileage
So Im wondering if anybody can help me out or point me in the right direction. I started looking for an older Hardbody kingcab but during my search ended up having a kid along the way. I would still go with the hardbody but I started looking at the frontiers because a four door is just a whole hell of a lot easier to get a kid in a car seat in and out of. But I got to looking and can anyone tell me why the frontier gets shit for mileage, or are you guys getting better mileage than what nissan claims. I dont believe it's a very heavy vehicle and it isn't the 5.7L thats in my chevy(and that gets 15 to 16mpg). So whats up. If anyone could help me out with whats up or let me know if there is a way to coax a few more miles out of a gallon that would be great.

Re: craptastic mileage
My 04 crew cab long bed 4x4 got @16 around town.....maybe 20 on the highway. I could never understand the crappy mileage other than that the engine was so underpowered on these models it had to work so hard....I just traded it for an 07 so I'm going to wait and see if the mileage is any different. If it's no better, at least it will be worth it because the engine is WAY more powerful on these models (post 2004). No the crappy mileage did not keep me away from the frontiers, I still think they are the best thing out there.....FYI, even with the crew cab, it's still a squeeze to get in the back, be sure you test fit the car seat back there first, or whoever sits in the front may have to have their seat in the dash to get it to fit....
