Renault Duster

I don't see this listed in the Renault options. It is sold as Renault in many countries including mine, Colombia and as Dacia in others like England. It is produced at a factory in Romania and shipped as a ckd (complete knockdown kit) to many countries including mine. It is a collaboration between Renault, Dacia and Nissan. The top version comes with a 138 hp 2 litre dohc Renault engine, six speed manual transmission with first being a "granny gear", or with an automatic.
It can be purchased with a four wheel drive system designed by Nissan and used in their Pathfinder and other models. It is also used in the Renault Koleos assembled in South Korea. The four wheel drive system offers three modes: 2wd, auto 4wd and locked 4wd.

I owned the 4WD version in the color "Verde Amazonie" or Amazonian green from 2014 to 2020. The color looked like a military green in some light but looked bronze in other light. It is an ideal vehicle for Colombia which has some challenging country roads requiring 4WD. It is also the least expensive 4WD on sale in the country. Reliability in my experience is excellent and it is the chosen vehicle by the police department in my city, Cali.

Re: Renault Duster

Thank you for that. Actually the Nissan Terreno is unrelated to the Renault/Dacia Duster.

you are correct.. i scoured some of the web, and while your romanian/french Dacia had been badged nissan terrano for india (1st gen), this is not the same as the nissan terrano which was a pathfinder (4th gen) in japan and u.s.; and other markets..

as far as getting yours onto the forum in the Dacia columns, i guess you might have to email/contact a moderator; or the actual site admin??
the pic looks like a very stout vehicle..
i like that Fifth Gear and Top Gear mentioned it was "...great handling poorly maintained mountain roads..." which is all of them, here in Colorado, USA

i hope you have luck with getting yours on the boards..

Re: Renault Duster

Thank you ctesia. I no longer own a Renault Duster but it is a significant option in Mexico and Latin America. Ownly changed up to a Mazda CX 5 Signature a year ago. The CX-5 is top notch for highway travel but takes a back seat to the Duster on unpaved country roads. I say hurray for the Duster under those conditions.

Re: Renault Duster

while the Renault sounded like a good utility vehicle; with switching to the 'zoom zoom', you will probably find parts easier; since it is available in more world markets..
hope the mazda gets better mpg in south america than in US..
(22-26 petrol, 46-50 diesel)
