1994 trans sport 3.1 wont start
We just got a used Trans Sport with the 3.1 engine. Started and ran fine all the way home except the fuel pump fuse blew twice on the way home (Only about a 5 mile drive). While doing some routine repairs (brakes, horn, installing a new radio, etc) I went to move it back to a flat part of the driveway to jack it up and now it won't start. It turns over but nothing. The fuel pump fuse looks fine and you can hear the fuel pump cycling when you turn the key. Thought maybe it was the ignition coil, replaced it, and still nothing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Scott |

Do you have spark? Do you have fuel pressure, will it start by spraying carb cleaner into the intake?

Re: 1994 trans sport 3.1 wont start
It won't start by spraying starting fluid into the intake...it coughs a little and feels like it wants to for a second, then goes right on not starting. JUST went out (Cuz its getting dark out) and tried to see if there was spark both at the coil and at 2 of the 4 cylindars, and nothing. I thought for sure it was the ignition coil, but still nothing. I'm guessing since there is no spark that it's an ignition prob, so I didn't even check fuel pressure or the injectors. But, Can an ignition problem just "happen" out of the blue? (I'm sure it probably can...LOL)
Any other insight is greatly appreciated... Thanx in advance!! -Scott Last edited by scooner; 05-11-2007 at 07:45 PM. |
