So I'm currently working on my thesis, which is going to be on the mathematical modelling of formula 1 cars, and my adviser asked me to go searching for THE book on performance car design that every automotive engineer has on his/her desk...any ideas??? Got a meeting next friday and would hate to show up empty handed...help please!

Race Car Vehicle Dynamics by Milliken. Its out of print but there are usually some used copies on Amazon that you could have overnighted.

Re: automotive engineering bible?!

Another good source for automotive design info is the Bosch automotive handbook.
Lots of useful automotive design reference.
Also available at amazon.
