A good price? Anyone got CARFAX for loan ;) ?

Found a local 300ZX, but I have yet to carfax the VIN, if anyone is willing to for me I would appreciate it, or I could paypal some cash if needed.

Anyhow, it is a red 1994 with 55,000 original miles, twin turbo. T-Tops, and the regular package for the TT model I'm assuming (leather, etc.) Interior was in decent condition from what I could tell (didnt get inside, just looked through the window), and though it wasnt trashed, it wasnt organised very well either (IE not pampered). Also, I have yet to drive it for myself...just happened to run into the guy and ask him and he said he would consider selling it to me, although we didnt talk a price. The body is quite lackluster by my standards though - someone must have gotten pissed at him or whoever owned it before him (2 owners) because it looks like they took something heavy and hit the passenger front fender ~20 times or so, causing 1/2 inch cuts about the width of a key and small dents along the rim of the fender (btw these go down to the metal). The back passenger taillight is cracked as well as the 3rd trunk brake-light or whatever it is where it says "Twin Turbo" is cracked to hell in the same area. The guy "doesnt" know what happened, so Im assuming someone backed into him, though the body is not crushed back there so....dunno. Maybe the hammer guy got after that section too!
The passenger mirror is cracked to hell, but the mirror housing appears fine. The front bumper is completely faded, apparently the guys wife who owned it before him backed up into it with her truck and when they repaired the bumper must have used inferior paint I assume. The hood as well as both front fenders have a few verious small chips/dents in them no more than 1cm and most dont extend past the primer, and the paint all-around is simply 'fair' being 'slightly' faded...im assuming lack of waxing has made the paint weak and vulnerable to rocks coming off the highway, and thus the small chips. As for the engine, bay, its about as dirty one one could expect for this age/mileage of car, no more and no less, and he claims oil was done every 3000. Claims he keeps it garaged, and uses it as a weekend car (hence the mileage). Has owned for the past 6-7 years...We didnt get around to any really intimate ?'s such as whether he had documents for service, oil, etc, or what type of oil was used, octane of gasoline, etc. Seemed kind of vague at times, as if he really didnt know much about the car, and wasnt looking really to sell it but was open to offers (which he stated he has no idea of the value but by now im sure he has blue booked it). Assumably by the 'haphazard' treatment it looks like it has gotten, it is a weekend car for a guy with three vehicles, probably used regular octane gas, regular oil changes but with the regular oil (not synthetic), and hasnt recieved any real 'special treatment' per say.

Frotunately im not intrested because I want a nice looking Z, the one I own is near immaculate, but im looking for a twin turbo. But this is almost perfect - low mileage twin turbo with enough superficial damage to justify bringing the price down to within my reach - I hope! Anyone got any #'s??? I'm trying to get a deal here, but I dont want to offer anything too low because im afraid ill insult him and he wont really want to deal after that. As stated before, he wasnt in the market to sell, I approached him at his buisness and asked, but he said he would definately consider it. $5,000-6,000? Help me out here guys! I dont want to swap my N/A, so anything over 8,000 is out of the question...
