f1 suspension system

Hi all

writing on my thesis at the moment, which is on the dynamic modeling of formula 1 race cars.
Am currently struggling a bit with the suspension systems, and wondering if any of you guys could help?
Basically, I am going for double a arm system with push rod. Split it up into 2 parts, an internal and an external part. The internal consists of the spring/damper system, external is double a-arm (upper/lower), tie rod, upright, and push rod.
My main struggle is with modelling the connection/attachment points, not sure which joints to go for, as I'm not entirely sure how many degrees of freedom it requires. Anyone got any ideas?
