1993 Jeep Wrangler Headlights High beam
I'm new to this guys so bare with me... Ok I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler. My problem is when I switch my headlights from low beam to High beam. There's. Nothing wrong with my headlights whenever I use my low beams but whenever I switch to my high beams that's when my problem occurs. I engage my hi beams and they will work for about 2 minutes or so but then they will shut completely off for about 3 seconds and come back on. It will do this until I switch back to my low beams and it goes back to Normal. So low beam is fine as long as I stay on low beam but if I switch over to hi beam my lights shut off and come back on over and over. Im just trying to gather some info before I start replacing the light switch all together. Could it be a bad relay or something? Not sure about it and would like some opinions. Thanks in advanced

I would check the dimmer switch for a drain. Monitor voltage on both sides.

First thing I would check would be the relay.

where is the relay located? Is it under the dash on the driver side? Probably a stupid question lol never done anything like this. What does relay look like? Is it similar to a fuse? Sorry for inexperience and thanks

It's located on the steering column about 1/2 way down. A rod pushes the switch. Locate the switch. Make sure the rod isn't bent and the switch didn't come loose. Make sure you get voltage use a 12 volt test light. As it switches to different terminals I'm not if the headlight relay switches as the lights all ready on. Make sure you get voltage on bright and dim.

It looks like it bolts to side of fender but may be under dash I don't remember. With a finger on it you can feel it pulse. If your lights turn on and off I don't think this is your problem. |

Yeah my low beam lights work. Whenever I switch to my hi beam lights they work too for about 2/3 minutes but they start to flash. Looks like I'm sending a S.O.S signal lol first time it did it freaked me out lol
