rebuilding transmissions
I just acquired two free transmissions for a 1600 and a 2002 (I was told), circa 1969 and 1971, from an older former owner of a 1971 model. I don't have one of these cars (I have a 318ti), and I'd like to take these apart and rebuild, just for the experience. I've done several other transmissions over the years. One "has a bad gear" and the other one is supposedly OK from a junkyard.
So I need the shop manual for the tranny -- maybe someone can send me the just the pages on transmissions? I don't need the whole manual 'cause I don't have the whole car. I have the serial numbers -- where can one look up the date of manufacture, model they were originally attached to, etc.? What is the best source for tranny parts? Thanks in advance for any advice.
