1998 Ram no start code P0340

i have a 1998 ram 1500 4x4 318, it will turn over but not fire.
i have replaced the following:
cap, rotor, camshaft sensor / pick-up coil was told they were same thing??, crankshaft sensor finally got my hands on a code reader. NO LINK.
towed it to a shop specializing in electrical.
told computer was bad, had new one install. ran great drove it home, to work next day, stopped for fuel.
now it wont start, same type problem. turns over no fire.
this time coad reader says P0340,
any suggestions???

Re: 1998 Ram no start code P0340

now it started right up, didn't do anything but turn the key.
so i drove it home, cleared code, double checked connection for camshaft sensor. so far so good, it still starting every time.
could i have a weak battery?

P0340 No Cam Signal At PCM.
No fuel sync.

If there's enough battery energy to crank the engine over a pretty good clip, there should be enough energy to operate the electronics imo.

Re: 1998 Ram no start code P0340

it does turn over at a good clip, volt meter reading 12.6 and if it starts reads 14.
acted up again tonight. turns over no start, threw code p0340 again.
should i put old cam sensor back on and see if it helps?? could there be something wrong with new computer??
