drl issues and more please help

I have been looking on here and got some good tips still didnt solve my problem so here it goes. I just bought a 99 z24 with wiring issues(no headlights) fist thing we did was look under the car found a broken wire and fixed it, now we have no drl, drivers headlight is dim, high beams we had to run direct to even get to work and they are dim, and when you move anything in the car some of the gauge lights come on like abs, theft, brake, air bag(engine light is the only one not coming on. We checked ALL the wiring found a few corrodid wires and repaired them, replaced the relay, tried a new headlight switch, changed the ground on the battery, another thing is that the high beam blue light never appears in the cluster. I need to get it safetied to put it on the road and i dont know if these issues will make it fail. Please any suggestions, i am willing to try anything. Am i going to have to replace the clucter?

Re: drl issues and more please help

Probably all wiring related, I don't think a bad cluster would make lights go on, definately don't replace it until you get the electrical issues solved. Check the voltage everywhere something doesn't work right... for example, voltage between socket+ and battery+. Should have very little voltage, less than .1V. Check power and ground wires. Do all the checks with the lights on, where you have more than .1V on a wire, you have too much resistance in that wire... usually from corrosion, sometimes a wire will break inside the insulation too. From there, check the volt drop from part-way through the wire. At a connector if you can, otherwise pierce the wire but be sure to seal the hole with RTV sealant when you're done. When you find a wire with high resistance, it's usually easier to run a whole new wire rather than tearing the harness open to repair a small section.
