Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Sure thing - it isn't a bargain at that price, especially with the additional shipping charges, but you never know when you will get a chance at another one.

Best of luck if you go for it Mike!

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

That's OK I never had an interest in bidding on it as I already have the LeMans Edition of DA. I was looking for a bargain by finding a beat-up standard edition of DA.

It was quite much that what I expected. Didn't knew there is full line up of cars, teams and drivers, which were good to have. Detail information is always needed. Good images and good story of the race.
Quite must book, if someone is interested of GTR history.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Tak43 pointed me in the direction of this today - It's en route so I can see what Tak called me about this afternoon

More info here -

"McLaren - The Wins Book

McLaren The Wins Book (2011) - It is not until you stop and count up McLaren’s victories, since its inception in 1964, that you truly appreciate the breadth and depth of this amazing marque’s footprint in motorsport.

No other racing team can lay this claim to success across such a vast spectrum: McLaren has been victorious in Formula 1, Formula 2, Formula 3, Formula A/5000, Indycars, Can-Am and Interserie sportscars and at Le Mans.

This landmark 320-page, large-format, all-colour 12 x 12 inch hardback publication from award' winning Coterie Press does what no other book has ever sought to achieve, painstakingly recording all of McLaren’s historic wins from 1964 until 2010"

Very interesting. I think other books will come out in the future.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Coterie Press have also published an updated version of "McLaren: The Cars" with an additional 16 pages. It now covers 1964-2012. It seems there is a boxed set that will be offered of 'The Cars' and 'The Wins' together, but I can not seem to find a place that will sell it to me.

Re: Books on the Mclaren - Which ones to get and why

Well, it arrived today, and its a good addition to a comprehensive Mclaren F1 Library but is a bit underwhelming, given we have been spoilt by DA, Michael Cottons GTR and Mclaren - The cars

There are some decent pictures and some small write ups, but its more of a good thing to have rather than "I need to get it"
