2001 alero having issue
2001 olds always has battery light on and past few days hard to start. Left wheel well sensor has gone out a couple of times the last 2 months. Just replaced radiator and now the car quickly overheats. So what is going on with my car?

Alternator not charging. Test alt output with VOM. Check fuses. Wheel well sensor? Do you mean ABS wheel sensor? Overheating: Air in system. Need to bleed out. Thermostat put in backwards?

Re: 2001 alero having issue
Your alternator light being on, means you have a charging problem.....
Probably need a hub assembly, wire harness to it, or both(if there is water intrusion)..... Did it start overheating AFTER the radiator was replaced(assume there was a visible coolant leak?), or was it overheating before the replacement? It's possible that there is an air pocket in the engine and the system was not properly bled, OR, you have a leak somewhere else.....3.1/3.4 known for intake issues...2.4 for water pumps....in either case, ouch on the cost to fix..... Can't put a thermostat in backwards in a 3.1/3.4, or 2.4....won't fit.... |
