Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
I just got a kenwood 7" screen that fits where the stock radio goes, 1 JL 10w3d2, and 600 watt amp. Pioneer speakers and that about it. Also got some off brand tweeters, but they scream.

Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
the box for the subs turns out to be a VERY important part of subbass performance

Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
less than 200....
carefull planning of a pawn shop deck, verified all outputs and channels operational before purchase... pioneer DEH-P47 Din/half 400w pioneer stereo amp two pioneer home theater tower speakers.... cause im too cheap to go get some real subs. twin mid and high single 10 inch woofer amazingly the sound quality isnt that bad compared to some mid end systems. and on top of that the extra air space a suburban can provide gives them woofers some extra space to thump out louder than my brother's single 12 inch Xplod sub, and power acoustic 500 w amp using the deck i gave him... pioneer something or other.. im a pioneer fan in case you didnt notice.

Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
I have a 2006 ford focus zx5 H/B with 2 kicker solox 10"s in a custom box that takes up my hole trunk. With a old school kicker zr1000.1 amp pushing the subs and a kicker zx350.4 for my kicker 6x8's in the doors. I just got a Alpine IVA-W200 head unit to replace my Kenwood kdc-x990. To help power it all i have 2 odyssey dry sell batterys.
I dont know how much i spent on my system because it hurts to think about it. but i know it is over $5000 canadian. I also have 2 alpine type r 12"s with alpine 1000.1 amp in my blazer that i hope i can sell soon to help pay for my new head unit. |

Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
$5k canadian (I'm guessing about $3k USD) is about average for comp systems. And then you got add in all the wires, cabling, batteries, alts, etc .. all the hidden stuff that still costs.

Re: How much money did you spend on audio?
Wow im trying not to get to that point as of yet i need to my blazer looking somewhat decent before i start soending the rest on the system. But my current one is 2-polk exII 12" subs with a profile amp in a custom box, 100 for the subs and amp and the HU was in my old car was 350 when i bought it.
The stuff i have sitting ready to go in 2-15" AA atlas subs, 6.5" re-re comps, a panasonic flip out HU, and im looking into either cadence or autotek amps for the front and sub stage. So far 300 for the subs and 170 for the comps, HU was 650, and the amps so far are looking to be about 200 for the sub stage and about 120-150 for the front. This doesnt include the countless hours ive been working on the door pods for the comps and the 0 gauge wire i have waiting to go in. Im still waiting for a chance to get my interior stripped so i can put my second skin in, and some other stuff. So about 1500-2000 once its all said and done.

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |
