All ready to buy a 323ci but now i'm not so sure

I thought BMW's were very reliable cars but a lot of posts on here are about the cars not being that reliable. I have the choice of a 323ci or a Lexus GS300...I'm wondering which one I'd be better off with...i know a car has its usual problems.

I can get a 2000 323ci with 35K for 22,000...seems like a fair price. MOdels in the 50K area cost about 18-20G

Or i can look at a GS300..they range from 20-24G for what I'm looking at.

Any suggestions?

Most of the posts here are about things going wrong with their cars, no matter what the car. I wouldn't judge a vehicles reliability on what you read here due to that fact. I would go with the BMW. but I am partial to them.

my father's 84' 5 series has over 400,000 miles and all that went wrong was the alternator, the auto transmission still original. But I think they're pretty unreliable cars. Go with the GS200.

lexus

I'd go with the lexus, I'm shopping around right now as well, and I seemed to have come to the same conclusion. It is kind of hard to go on hear say, but thats all we have. I test drove the new IS sport design, lexus just dropped, it was pretty sweet. I found an offer online that said that I could get a free subscription to a few different magazines, for test driving the IS. check out the links, you'll see the IS ad on the left.
