2000 Trans Am Engine Miss

Hello, I have a 2000 WS6 with 35k miles pulling DTC codes PO352 and PO354. I swapped the B coil pack with the A coil pack and it still pulls the same codes. When I clear the codes, they come back fairly quick. Lastly while driving the car is very sluggish and has a noticable miss and the headers for the #2 and #4 cylnders are fairly cool. Any thoughts as to what is causing the issue? Thank you!!

Chances are those cylinders are not firing......those codes are for the circuit to each coil......have you checked spark output from the coil?

Have you checked the circuits to the coils on 2 and 4?

No I haven't......could you explain how I would check the circuits to the #2 and 4 coils? Would appreciate as much description as you are able to provide. Thank you!

Re: 2000 Trans Am Engine Miss

Simple to check.....pull coil/module off of plug.....disable fuel.....install spark plug tester(some look like a spark plug with an alligator clip to ground it) to coil module....crank vehicle.....does it have spark? No? Swap with another coil/module that is firing.....still no spark?

If my schematic is right, "A" is black, that is a ground....."B" is a low reference ground to the PCM....."C" is the trigger signal to make the module fire.....and finally "D" is ignition voltage......So if you put a test light between "D" and "A" and "D and "B", and it lights in both cases, since you swapped a know good module previously, then you are not getting a trigger signal on "C" from the PCM.....

If that is the case, you have to check the circuit from the module to the PCM, if ok, you need a PCM....however, this is rare....my money is on a wiring problem......
