I just bought some Intrax springs, and I was wondering if a friend and I should try and install them ourselves, or should I just pay the dough and have them professionally installed.
So, does anyone here have experience doing this? I can get them compressed for pretty cheap, it would just be a matter of swapping them for the stock springs. However, I worry about correct camber, and everything else that could go wrong. If anybody has any suggestions on the matter, please either reply or give me an e-mail or get ahold of me on ICQ!!!! Thanks, and later.

Are these coil over shocks, McPherson struts or coil on axles??
They are each varying degrees of difficulty but not that bad to do. |

I'm pretty sure it's Mcpherson. I haven't ever heard, but just from looking at it that's the impression I get. Plus, it's a small, FWD car.

These are medium difficulty. You need to compress the springs to take off one of the ends so it can be removed. Usually the spring is fairly large outside diameter and a large pitch so that it's difficult using the screw type spring compressors with the hooks. They tend to slip on the spring as they are tightened. Your easiest way may be to take the struts off the car and take them to someone who can compress and remove the springs safely. They can install the new ones easily so all you have to do it bolt them back on again.
