Is it possible to put a DOHC head onto a SOHC block?

Not sure, but don't bother... Saturns are crap. Look up the KBB value of your car, find someone naive enough to buy it as is, and if you're going to buy a cheap, 17 year old car, next time go Japanese... I would recommend a Honda.
