Engine code P0442 question

I did a search on code P0442 and read many of the posts but did not find an answer to my specific question.

I have an 01 Dodge Dakota with the small V-8 and 123,000 miles on it and just recently got an engine code P0442.

At the same time I got this code I had mindlessly allowed my fuel tank to get as low as 1/16th of a tank or less and was on my way to the gas station to fuel up when my engine light came on.

I read on line that fuel pressure can be a factor with this code and was wondering if an extremely low fuel tank could have contributed to tripping the code.
