That was done at Shalford which looked more like this:

I believe Gordon Murray Design is now located at this site.

Re: Quiz time....with rewards.

Sorry guys, but no to all the above,

So far only Greg is on the right track, but there is more to this answer .

My last clue about DA should have been enough, look for two seperate pages, that have pictures of the inside of the building

Last clue, I myself have been inside this building years ago .

Re: Quiz time....with rewards.

Continuous Engineering Workshop, unit 12, Woking Business Park. Google mapping the area shows buildings ike what you have shown

Evolving the road car to become a GTR and the GT in the prototyping workshop

At last we have the correct answer well done Greg.

Unit 12 is now being used by a stage/set company. So no more McLaren connection with that important piece of history.

I have not seen any evidence where the batches of 96 and 97 GTR,s were built, not unless somebody is holding out on us. Although I have pics of 10R in prototype build, I will check if that car was built in the same building. McLaren and BMW were joined in a touring car program at that time, so they could have been built elsewhere.

Pop Quiz - What's wrong with this Facebook page?

Facebook - 1997 McLaren F1 GTR LongTail (street-legal version)

I was going to comment, but you actually have to "Like" the page to do so and I just couldn't bring myself to do that.

Also provide conformation of this measurement, by posting the article. you found it printed in

Interesting that nobody has answered this question, so I shall keep it running for this week as well.

Perhaps it might be easier for some, to measure an actual car .
I can't believe this is still unanswered with this much McLaren F1 knowledge in one place. I am not sure of the answer, but if i remember correctly I have seen the answer in a magazine review of the car referring to the amount of space required in a parking garage to get in, park, and get out of the car (from a practicality standpoint obviously). Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Re: Quiz time....with rewards.

I really hadn't given it much thought these past SEVEN YEARS.

Find that article - you'll be the hero.
