A few questions about crown vics and..

My 05 Deville has a blown head gasket which means it needs a new engine. So that means screw it, I'm done with Caddys. I'm looking at getting a crown victoria because I've heard they're still big sedans with lots of room, but they don't cost an arm and a leg to fix every other month. I'm finding a decent amount, but I was wondering how similar the crown vic, grand marquis, and town car are. I really just want a large sedan with lots of room but is cheap to maintain and it very reliable, are the other two similar enough to the crown vic that they would be just as good? Also any other big sedans that fit the bill? I was told impalas are good, but some of the stuff I found online worried me, like the speedomoter breaking and being a super costly repair. One more random question, I'm listing my 05 Deville at 2k, it does run right now but probably needs a new engine, and some body work, is that a fairish price you guys think? Thanks.

If you post your question on the Lincoln vs Cadillac forum you might get more feedback. I have a 99 Continental and it's been a good car. They are cheap and I think that they have the same body as a Crown Vic. They stopped making them in 02 though.

Retired Police Interceptors are plentiful and cheap. They are also very reliable and run good. I have a 2005 ex-AZ DPS car and it's become my primary car (I also have a 1988 Caprice) due to the fact that I am seeing 18-20MPG in the city with it.

The Continental and the Crown vic have nothing in common. The Continental is a FWD car.

The Crown Vic and Grand Marquis are exactly the same, except Grand Marquis are slightly less likely to have been beat on if you find one.

The Town Car, depending on the year, got a fancier suspension and some extra electronic gizmos and a more plush interior.
