Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!
Well, another mystery solved. Who'd have thought a year ago that by now we'd know what the black LMs look like and know what cars are in Brunei. Nice work

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!
Just considered that this T1 might as well be a special made custom model, just like some of the families 4 door Astons and Ferraris and the Bentleys with the funny names...
Another question then: Anyone knows how old this collection is? Most cars seem to be relatively young, no vintage stuff whatsoever. Perhaps it is considered 'not done' buying 'secondhand' by the family? Personally, with this kind of budget I would have gone for a bit more variation and definately a bit more classic stuff... Do you mind sharing the source of the list, MiniMagic? Cheers, Ruben |

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!
I assume all of these are up for sale, or what ever remains on the collection. I guess you can also assume that they are not in the best condition. sea air is very corrosive.

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!
I think the general opinion is that the cars that aren't out by now are staying. Most don't meet US/UK/Wherever safety/emission restrictions. Remember, these cars were made for the ruler(s) of brunei and they didn't care about safety/emissions. Most cars weren't fitted with airbags. Word is that the "normal" cars that have escaped (Ferrari 355's, 456's, 550's etc) were bought for almost nothing and have had A LOT go wrong wit them

Here's two of the Sultan's old cars.
And I believe another, but I can't verify it 100%. |

Re: Brunei Mclarens Revealed!!!!!!
Yes, the Cizeta is "ex-Brunei". Same for both his F50's (actually never made it to Brunei but were stuck at Pininfarina for RHD conversion which was never performed).
