I hope you're implying stock for stock and straight drag only in regard to "performance", because any number of Japanese imports could be modified to completely smoke a Cobra, many times on, but especially outside, a drag strip. Also, that insane performance comes at a price- subpar quality and horrible resale.

Re: How fast is the new RSX S?

it takes less work to mod out a cobra though, they already have insane hp. with just botlons they can run 10s, not many imports can claim that.

Why are you so hung up on the location of a corporation's headquarters?
Germany makes nice cars too, but they're expensive as hell.

I'm just talking about fast cars that you can drive hard and aren't a money pit.
I've seen custom Ford Pintos in Super Comp. at the NHRA in Pomona, California pull 9 second runs. And I've seen beat-up and Bondo'ed CRX haul ass around a track. But good grief, if you try to pick up a hot chick in a Pinto or CRX, be prepared to be pepper sprayed "Get away from me you creep!".

Sheesh.

I have been to Germany, BMWs are a dime a dozen over there. At the track a few months ago I saw a ford bronco 2 pull a 9.

LOL, I know what you mean, BMW makes a nice Taxi Cab .

Import vs. Domestic BMW's. Which is better? I guess it depends on which country you're in at the time.

Either way, AMG Mercedes Benz and Turbo Porsches are expensive as hell no matter where I am.

Re: How fast is the new RSX S?

Back to the SUV topic, I gotta say that there should be an additional operators license to use an SUV. Minivan's have purposes (hauling soccer mom ass....I mean hauling kids and other stuff that needs space), and a smooth ride, trucks are for heavy duty uses like for labourers, towing, etc. SUV are just luxury vehicles. And everyone thinks they're superman in the SUV, even though with brakes inferior to cars, stopping more weight, usually at a faster speed can stop in time in bad weather.

Sheesh.
My point was simply that the Cobra is not your only option for excellent performance in that price range. And to me it has nothing to do with the location of a company's HQ, it's about the quality and reliability of the product. My 98 GT WAS a money pit....and I think the only girls you can pull with a Mustang anymore are probably named Krystal, Joelene, Bonnie-Rae or Mady-Sue. In which case, be prepared to treat for crabs. I respect the Cobra's hp, but other than that...

Re: How fast is the new RSX S?

i remember when the mustang was a car guys bought when they hit their mid-life crisis. Now, ever time I see a mustang there is some teenie-bopper girl behind the wheel. And furthermore, they get autotragics. One of the sexiest things in the world is a chick who can quick-shift.

Re: How fast is the new RSX S?

I do however like that the new 300hp mustang is less than an RSX

What is it about hot chicks manipulating a knob at the end of a shaft that seems so goddamned appealing...

A dildo-shaped shift knob would be a hilarious gift.
You can include a hairy shift boot to complete the "package".
