I wouldn't be...

Of course you have your own private stash that you never plan on sharing with us either. Or you just plan to use them as bribe material to get things that you want along the way, right??

Oh well - maybe I should nickname you stingy_magic and you can start hanging out with diablo roadster's friend PJ Stingy.

peloton, i don't see what the big deal is, i have said i will post them when i get DSL, i have been saying that for a long time, and since they screwed up something down at the company they keep putting it off. i don;t see you posting any of your "rare" pics, i have asked u numerous times for more pics of the burgundy f1 with hd kit but to no avail. also, is it so wrong that i don't want to post the pics that I took when I went to the effort of going to all the places? if you went to see one and took tons of pics and said you didn't want to post many because it was a special experience to you, i would respect that. just chill out, we're not competing to see who has the most and rarest pics, its a forum where we share our interests of mclarens where we sometimes debate over information and when people get mad because other people don't post a few "new" pics it kinda ruins the whole point of this forum. have patience, i will post some.

Wow - look who gets all defensive from some friendly ribbing...

For starters, I have 5 photos of the burgundy F1 which wears the LM-Kit. I am positive that you have three of them as they came from the for sale ad on QV500.com. There's one overhead shot of the whole car taken outside, one side profile of the car in the same location, and a shot of the interior taken inside the factory. I'm also fairly certain you have the fourth one (from that French site that has pictures of cars passing on the motorway), and I would be willing to bet that you might even have the fifth photo (but possibly not know it) as it's a side shot of the front of the car on a lift in the McLaren garage taken with the front wheel spinning. If you don't have all five of them, let me know and I will post whichever you are missing. That's all I've ever seen of that car and I do believe I even posted them all when you asked for them. It's not like I have some amazing stash of photos on that car that I am keeping from you.

I do think it's wrong that you won't post all the pics you took from your trip. If I had been in your shoes I wouldn't hold anything back - I guess that's just me though. I only wish I could be so lucky as to photo document as many cars as you have and I would happily share every picture that I took as I know there are others out there who crave new photos and the relative info they can provide on the cars as much as I do. To accuse me of being selfish for not posting my entire collection of pictures isn't the least bit fair. I post photos when I feel they will help improve the dialogue or contribute to the level of info available to everyone. Someday I will have a place where I can share every photo I have categorized and labeled to the best of my knowledge. If I make the effort of buidling a website like that, I'd want some of the content to be unique as opposed to most of the other sites out there that repeat the same 40-50 photos over and over. That's the only reason my entire collection isn't available now.

Also, I'd be willing to bet that 25-50% of your own photo collection has come from help that I have provided you, either directly by simply posting the photos, or indirectly through offering specific info about the cars that isn't found readily in other places which then allows you to use search engines on the web to track down other photos. Go ahead, admit its true. Now, do I think you should be thanking me for that?? Not really - but for the record, it's rare that you do compared to so many others who come to me for info or photos.

Incidentally, I would never be "mad" about your desire not to share your photos. I think you have the wrong impression here. However, I will on occasion remind you that you're not very forthcoming when you have promised to share them several times in the past. Also, when you play the "tell me this and I'll post a few more pictures" game, it doesn't make me wanna help you out either. At least people like gerd who claim to have photos that none of us have seen make it very clear that they have no intention of posting them. Maybe you should do the same if my pestering is going to bother you so much.

BTW: At the moment, I too suffer with 56K dialup at home. It doesn't really prevent me from sharing anything that I want/need to though. It's certainly slow, but if I have a large batch of photos to upload I simply set it to go and then walk away for a while. It's not that big of a deal for me but maybe in my old age I've developed a little more patience that you.
