96 GMC sonoma 2.2 starting problems

96 GMC is hard to start when cold, if it has sat for more then 4 hours I have to crank it over for 5-10 min before it starts, but once warm it starts right up, until last night it was only off for 5 min cam back out and it would not start until I gave it a couple squirts of starting fluid, then it ran fine, I have just replace the cab off a 98 GMC Sonoma, but they had to put all the original cables back in the new cab and this started a week alter the cab was replaced............ I just replaced the fuel filter and while I had it off I turned on the key to see if fuel cam out no such luck not a drop, so then I tried cranking it again no fuel. so is this a bad pump or a bd fuel rely some where?

Fuel pressure is suspect. The fuel pump should operate for two second when the ignition is turned on. That is your window to test fuel pressure. Expect to read about 40-45 PSI at the rail.
