Re: HobbyDesign 1/24 Ferrari 599XX Super Detail-up Set

Yep, ordered mine several days ago from a different site. Just waiting for it in the mail. I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw they were releasing it. Saves me most of the time of modifying/scratch building many of the stock 599 pieces.

Only sickening thing is I've already purchased the 20" wheels that are for this set thinking I was going to modify the stock kit. I then find out several weeks later they're coming out w/ a complete kit.

Does anyone know whether 599XX has the same bucket seat as FXX? It's really too bad that seats are not part of the trans kit.

looks like the Sparco Corsa as in the FXX. maybe just different color alcantara and 599XX logos.

btw, does anyone know what color code the 599XX is or at least the 599 GTB that's in similar red?

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago.

I'm wondering why HD didn't go ahead and make a whole body since you have to chop off the front end, deck lid and lower rear body.

If I had a 599 in my stash this would be a must.

I agree. It does look like a good deal of hacking the old kit. The Audi R8 GT kit is the only one HD has come up w/ some far that's complete, right? It is quite a bit more $$ of course.

I just got the kit today, the wheels are way off... kinda disappointed since they are charging big $$ for it.. should have done better wheels...

Off in what way besides size?

The 599xx has 19" rims, not 20"....what do they really scale out to?

Judging from one picture above, it's clear to me that the bottom curve of the "U" is too narrow, but the photo is angled, so the actual product may be different.
